Sexual Harassment: A Commonsense Approach — Employee Version

True-to-life scenes in this sexual harassment training video show how awareness, communication and civility can lead to preventing sexual harassment in the workplace.

This video is owned by 369 public agencies nationwide.

Isn't it just amazing? Even after huge settlements and attention-grabbing headlines, sexual harassment issues continue to be a problem in our workplaces. And while some people still behave badly, others may overreact to minor slights that don't really qualify as sexual harassment. Either way, unwelcome conduct is bad news for employers.

What is sexual harassment?

Sexual harassment is any unwelcome conduct of a sexual nature. The courts have defined two forms of sexual harassment: hostile work environment and quid pro quo (Latin for "this for that"). Hostile work environment harassment is ongoing behavior that interferes with a person's ability to do their job. Quid pro quo harassment occurs when a superior uses his or her power to gain sexual favors.

This dramatic sexual harassment training video is designed to help your employees with both the gray areas and the obvious. Viewers will see realistic scenes that are clearly sexual harassment, and others that are probably just lapses in good judgment.

  • Is it ever OK to hug someone at work?
  • Are compliments ever appropriate?
  • How much joking around is acceptable?
  • Is it illegal for employees to date?

These questions and many more are answered in this award-winning sexual harassment training video. Experts in the field, trainer Linda Garrett and attorney Brandon Blevans, add their insights to help you distinguish what is—and what is not—sexual harassment, in various settings, including manufacturing, office, healthcare and academic environments.

Viewers will learn how to recognize sexual harassment, how to respond appropriately, and how to behave in compliance with the law and your company's sexual harassment policy.

Sexual harassment training is for everyone. Use this entertaining and enlightening sexual harassment training video to ensure your employees understand their responsibility in maintaining the atmosphere of civility you expect within your organization.
